May 15-17, 2025 | Paris

Organised by Aleph-Écriture

The must-attend event for instructors and teachers dedicated to creative writing in Europe and beyond.

The 7th International Pedagogical Conference of the EACWP (European Association of Creative Writing Programs) will be held in Paris from May 15 to 17, 2025.  Organised and hosted by Aleph-Écriture, this biannual event is an opportunity to discover a variety of approaches to teaching creative and literary writing. This edition will also mark Aleph-Écriture’s 40th anniversary, adding a special touch to the event.

Join us for three days of stimulating lectures, panel discussions and workshops led by instructors, teachers, authors and researchers from all Europe who will share their practices and question the theme: Writing in the Real World.

A RICH AND VARIED PROGRAM

The conference will offer innovative reflections on contemporary issues relating to writing and its role in today’s society.

Writing in the Real World raises a number of challenges:

  • What are the different pedagogical approaches and debates in this area?
  • What role can we play, creatively speaking, in meeting the specific challenges of our time?
  • How can we support and develop our student’s talents and productions in the context of multiple crises, overproduction, media monopolies, and the exponential development of generative artificial intelligence?
  • Is it time to give writing a new purpose?

The conference will be structured around four main issues: The idea of the real world, Freedom of speech and censorship, The Teaching approach, Publishing: an other side of the real world, Present and future of writing

An inclusive, multilingual event

The EACWP pedagogical conference will welcome teachers, writing workshop leaders, researchers, translators and creative writing professionals from all over the world.

Sessions are scheduled in English, French and Spanish to encourage enriching, diversified exchanges, and to honor everyone’s language.
